Have you ever wondered how many types of hats there are? If you wear hats do you have a favorite? What made you pick the hat you wear?
For me it is a purple ball cap that says “Move”. The word move can mean a lot of things:
·
Go to another
place
·
Impel, arouse
·
Take action
In Job 17:9 it says “The righteous keep moving forward and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger. “
I wear my “Move” hat when I am outside doing yard
work. This hat has protected me from the sun and the rain.
There is another type of hat and that is the helmet of salvation. Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God so that we may stand firm against all strategies of the devil. (Eph 6:11).
The most important hat of all to wear is the helmet of Salvation. If we put on the rest of the armor of God and we don’t put on the helmet of salvation we are sitting ourselves up for defeat. Our mind is the battlefield where spiritual warfare is fought.
The devil likes to throw negative thoughts our way. Some thoughts may be “are you really saved?” “Did God really say that?”
First off once you accept Jesus as
your Lord and Savior you are forgiven of your sins and your name is written in
the Lambs book of life.
Second Satan tempted Jesus but each
and every time Jesus said it is written.
My purple hat is not very purple
anymore. The sun beating down on it and the many times is has been washed has dulled
the color. The helmet of Salvation never wears out; you never have to replace
it.
We must wash our mind with God’s word
and what he says about us.
In Romans 12:2 it says “do not conform
to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good,
pleasing and perfect will.”
So I ask you again what type of hat is your favorite.
