I was challenged to list some items that bring me joy. My
list includes: baking, Cleo, doing little things to surprise my husband and
Cross-Stitching.
To some Cross-stitching would make them pull their hair
out or make them say some bad words. To me it brings me joy, it calms me. I
really love the look on the faces recipient.
In some ways Cross-Stitching is like painting, the only
difference is the materials used. They both take an empty canvas and paints.
The empty canvas for cross-stitch is Aida cloth and the paints are embroidery
floss.
In away a lot like us, we start out as blank canvases and
God, the artist, takes the colors of life and stitches on our hearts.
Along the way, the picture we are cross-stitching is not
much to look at, it is hard to tell what it is going to be and it really
doesn’t look like the pattern. The same with us, at first we don’t see what God
is doing and we see something that is ugly, someone with scares or a broken heart.
All of my pieces have a mistake in them somewhere. I can
rip it out and start over again, or I can just blend them in so no one knows
but me, the artist.
God does the same with us. He picks up his needle and
floss and blends the scares, and the brokenness together to create a one of a
kind master piece YOU!
Don’t give up God isn’t finished painting our lives.
Trust him and you will see a valuable masterpiece.
